Ad Hoc scripting includes scripts written for your particular problem and all needed limited term Meta-Update licenses.

A few of our successes:

• Wrong Classes   Imagine thousands of various devices set as Computer Systems and worked for a year — associated to tickets, changes, leases, support groups, etc.
  
  We wrote a script that was controlled by a spreadsheet to query for appropriate CIs and replicate them and all thier associations in a specified class as well as change the Product Catalog as needed. As a second step, the original CIs would be deleted.
  
  
• CMDB Class Migrations   For one customer, the CMDB Classes were changing over releases. We wrote script to manage those changes so that the data was upgraded.
  
  
• Global Assignments   One customer was changing Assignments to be company specific, so we wrote a simple script to replicate Global to Company Specific Assignment records — in a couple of hours.
  
  
• Meta-Databot   One customer had a massive support reorg. Groups went from being specific to being generalized. Rather than all DB People in one group, people from different disciplines were organized into the same group.
  
  Meta-Update scripts were develop to effect these changes. These were then generalized into Meta-Databot.
