» How to Open Diary Editor to All Users

Override Instructions

To open up Diary Editor for all Users you'll need to import a Configuration form using the administrator tool.

Download and save this .def file and use the BMC Remedy Administrator Tool to import it onto the server you wish to open up to all users.

Once imported, you can save a single record to open Diary Editor to all Users.

To select the form, in the User Tool Open all objects and switch to the Find tab. Type "Software Tool House Application Configuration" and press enter.

Simply create a new record selecting "Diary Editor" for the Application and "Open to All Users" for the Keyword. Type a "1" in the Value field and then save the record.

Administrator Rights

By default, the Remedy User that Diary Editor signs on as must be an Administrator.

If you want to override this requirement, these instructions will tell you how.

Server License

You can use the same form to store the licence on the server. If you do so, individual users will not have to set the license in the Diary Editor

Meta-Update

Meta-Updateallows you to automate virtually any data manipulation job with no API knowledge or programming skills at all.

With Meta-Update, running through a diary field's entries and creating or updating records or CSVs is trivial.
